WHAT IS A DENTAL IMPLANT?
DENTAL IMPLANTS FOR COMFORTABLE LIVING.
Millions of people worldwide have already taken advantage of implant therapy to replace one or more missing teeth.
A dental implant is an artificial root on which a crown is secured, thus replacing the lost tooth.
THE IMPLANT SYSTEM CONSISTS OF:
- The dental implant (artificial root): in the shape of a screw, it is manufactured from biocompatiblematerial made from titanium or zirconia.
- The prosthetic abutment: titanium part used as a link between the dental implant and the crown.
- The crown or bridge: replacement tooth.
An artificial root made of titanium is inserted directly into the jaw bone (in the place of the missing tooth). A crown is then secured to the root by means of a prosthetic abutment, replacing the lost tooth.
During a surgical procedure, the artificial root (screw) is inserted into the bone where it replaces the root of the missing tooth.
After the healing period, the abutment is secured on the dental implant.
This abutment is used as a support for setting the dental crown.
Dental implants make it possible to:
- Replace an isolated tooth,
- Replace several teeth,
- Replace all teeth;
